Cookies, local storage, and session storage: what each one does, and how to change your mind at any time. Last updated July 26, 2026.
A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to keep. We keep the list short on purpose: a handful of strictly-necessary items the site can't work without, and a couple of optional analytics scripts you control below.

Embedded third parties
Some pages embed a YouTube video (via youtube-nocookie.com, which minimizes cookies until you play the video) and map tiles from MapTiler, which does not set cookies. Moderated participation panels, when available, use Slido and load only after you choose to open them. If you interact directly with an embedded video or participation panel, that provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
